Share The Dignity

A little bit about Share the Dignity….

In 2015, Share the Dignity was founded after identifying there was a genuine need to provide vulnerable women in our community with essential sanitary products. It was reported that these women are often forced to choose between buying food to eat or buying expensive sanitary items to get through their periods. 

Women and children, either homeless or in shelters, were having to clean themselves in public toilets and use paper towels to create makeshift sanitary pads. This is not and should never be okay. 

From a grassroots local community initiative to a national charity, Share the Dignity has struck a chord with the Australian public and continues to evolve in order to provide for the needs of at-risk women and children. 

Working tirelessly with over 5,500 volunteers, the charity has been able to deliver over 3.2 million packets of pads and tampons and over 617,000 essential-filled handbags to Australian women, girls and those who menstruate. 

Share the Dignity continues to grow with the support of passionate volunteers and the generosity of Australian businesses, ensuring that everyone is afforded the dignity in life that many of us take for granted.

Doing our part!

Orange Sherbet are thrilled to have teamed up with the wonderful people at Share the Dignity who are making a real, on the ground difference to those in need. Whether that be fleeing domestic violence, experiencing homelessness, or are just really doing it tough. Orange Sherbet have loved the opportunity to do our bit to help such a wonderful and inspiring cause.

For the third year, the team have launched their Dignity Range! With every purchase from the Dignity Range, $20 will go directly to Share the Dignity.

Orange Sherbet as a team have also set a fitness goal this year as part of Move4Dignity 2021! Move4Dignity is a virtual fitness challenge that calls on Australian's to set fitness goals to achieve as a team!

We have since taken part in the “It’s in the Bag” campaign which allows Share the Dignity to donate thousands of bags filled with essential products and special gifts to those in need. We were so excited to be given the opportunity to help others and have already started collecting for the next drive which will be running for the month of March.
